Difficult days ahead
Things have been pretty bad at work of late. I work in education and we are being hit very hard in California. My district is laying off more than 400 teachers, administrators and other staff. Classified staff, which I am a part, will not even hear of our fates until April and May. The days of being safe during a budget crisis are long gone. I have almost 20 years in the district and there's a possibility of my job being cut. Pretty hard stuff. I have been trying to take this all one day at a time and just count my blessings as each day comes. Some of my friends at work have already received their pink slips and there's little to no chance of their jobs being saved. It's heart-breaking and quite a few of us are going through survivor's guilt right now. Yet, I am trying to remember the 12 steps and that I can trust in God through all of this. Easier said than done sometimes, that's for sure.

Yes. Dont give up faith. We moved into a new apt last year.It was a move from the west to the east so I could no longer teach in my old school due the long commuting hours.End of last year, I asked for a transfer but I did not get a placement.I was running out of patience. Last month, one evening, as we were walking back home, I shouted out aloud "I will get a placement and universe you are going to get it for me". Guess what!!! The very next day, I got a call informing me that I got my placement. So yes, positive thinking goes a long way.Be positive especially when times are bad.Trust me...it works :)
